Roy Brown is a retired police detective who works in telecommunications.

Season 1[]
Prior to his retirement Brown was partnered with Detective Freamon in the pawnshop unit. Following the shooting of Detective Greggs, Freamon approaches Brown for help in locating the suspect, Roland Brice. Brown is initially dubious but asks Freamon to confirm that involves the police shooting and then devotes himself fully to the task. Brice is located using Brown's information. ("Sentencing")
