Joe Chappelle is an American motion picture director and producer. He is a producer and director for The Wire. He initially worked as a director on the first season, helming "One Arrest". He became a Co-Executive Producer and director for the third season in 2004. He also worked as a Second Unit Director on episodes where he was not the director. He continued in this role for the fourth season in 2006. He left the Second Unit Director role but remained a Co-Executive Producer and director for the fifth and final season in 2008. He has been active since 1993 and has also worked on Fringe, CSI: Miami, and CSI: NY.
