Biography
Edit
Brandon was Omar's boyfriend and a member of his stick-up crew, along with John Bailey. He was shown as a loyal, but careless and foul-mouthed man. Nonetheless, he and Omar were intimately involved and evidently happy together.
During their stick-up of The Pit, Brandon mistakenly used Omar's first name in front of several Barksdale Organization drug dealers as they robbed their stash in the low rise projects; the name was reported back by volatile Barksdale dealer Bodie Broadus, beginning a long-running feud between Omar and the Barksdale crew.
Added by AustinderpSoon after the robbery, Avon Barksdale was informed, and he subsequently placed bounties on the trio of Omar's crew. Bailey was killed soon after while visiting relatives. Brandon unfortunately was soon next, as he was spotted by Pit dealers Wallace and Poot Carr playing pinball at "The Greek's" - a restaurant on the west side. They alerted D'Angelo Barksdale to their find, and D'Angelo passed the message to second-in-command Russell "Stringer" Bell. Stringer arrived with three prominent Barksdale enforcers: Marquis "Bird" Hilton, Roland "Wee-Bey" Brice and Anton "Stinkum" Artis. Brandon was captured by the trio, tortured, and killed. His body was grotesquely mutilated and displayed in the low rise projects as a warning to Omar on Avon's instructions.[1]
Brandon's death had a significant impact upon Wallace, who was responsible for alerting his superiors to his location. He carried an immense amount of guilt, acknowledging that he hadn't thought through the consequences of his actions.
Brandon's death also devastated Omar, who was also outraged at his death and the manner in which the Barksdales carried it out. He would begin a long-standing crusade of revenge in response. Brandon's death was later referred to as being "all in the game", which even Omar acknowleged; however, he explained that he sought his vengeance for the torture and mutilation of his body, actions that "went past that".
